Earn an Executive Certificate from MIT Sloan
An MIT Sloan Executive Certificate is a formal recognition of your professional development and commitment to continuous learning. Pursuing an Executive Certificate allows you to further your business knowledge and skills on a convenient, flexible schedule of your own design. Our professional certificate programs run throughout the year and are typically two days to one week in duration. The certificates are offered in three areas of concentration, providing executives with the opportunity to tailor their education plans to meet their own specific interests and business goals.
Design Your Executive Certificate:
To qualify for an Executive Certificate, participants must complete four programs—with at least three of the four coming from their chosen certificate track—within a four-year period. Although select online programs can be used toward an Executive Certificate, at least one program must be attended in person or as a live online program. With more than 50 short courses in our portfolio and dozens of back-to-back course options, there has never been a better time to complete your certificate requirements.
Discover which Executive Certificate track is right for you:
We offer certificates in three areas of concentration designed to further your business knowledge and skills, while also addressing your interests, goals, and time constraints:
You can indicate your intent to earn an Executive Certificate prior to completing your first course or any time after. Although many participants find it helpful to preselect the certificate they wish to earn and the courses they wish to complete in advance, others prefer to take a course or two before determining if they want to pursue a certificate and selecting which track is best for them. There are many different program combinations available when designing the Executive Certificate plan that is right for you, including the option of completing the Executive Certificate requirements in one short visit or focusing on a topic area. We have designed the certificate to be flexible to fit your schedule and learning objectives. Email our team if you need assistance planning your certificate: email@example.com.
We also offer an Advanced Certificate for Executives in Management, Innovation, and Technology (ACE) if you want an even more in-depth learning experience—including extra time with faculty and peers and additional time to experience the dynamic MIT ecosystem.
The Impact of an MIT Sloan Executive Certificate:
Many of our Executive Certificate holders credit their MIT experience with having positive impact on both their personal and professional goals. Completion of an MIT Sloan Executive Certificate has resulted in an expansion of roles and responsibilities for many participants, led to promotions to new positions for others, and even been the impetus for meaningful career changes for some of our certificate holders.
Here’s how a few executives have put their certificates to work for them:
“Practical lessons for immediate, real-world applications … is an honest summary of the executive education experience,” says Keith Patch. “I’ve benefited not only from the methods that I learned but also the high-caliber networking contacts from around the world, with whom I have stayed in touch since the classes.”
“The day after completing my first Executive Certificate, I was beginning a new leadership role,” says Joanne Markow. “Today, I’m co-founder of an early stage startup. Thanks to MIT Sloan, I’m even more fearless than before.”
“I’m not na?ve about what my MIT Sloan Executive Certificates have done for me,” says Neil Ackerman, who holds certificates in both Strategy and Innovation and Management and Leadership. “In addition to the skills and frameworks you can acquire, it’s important to realize that the reputation of MIT Sloan is very meaningful in the business world.”
Benefits of an MIT Sloan Executive Certificate:
In addition to the many takeaways a certificate provides, benefits for Executive Certificate holders also include:
Executive Certificate Costs:
What does an Executive Certificate cost? It depends. There is no one set price. You select the courses that fit your schedule and educational plan. The total cost would be the price of the individual programs completed. You may choose all two-day programs or a mixture of two-day and week-long programs. You don't have to enroll in and pay for all of the programs at one time, however there are significant savings when you take advantage of the Multiple Program Registration Discount.
Multiple Program Registration Discount:
When you register at one time for two or more programs (using a single application form), you are eligible for a 15% discount on each additional program. (e.g., If you are enrolling in three 2-day programs, the first program to occur chronologically would be at the full price and the two additional programs would be at the discounted price.)
Click here to see the list of programs that do not accept discounts of any kind.
If you are ready, you can indicate that you wish you to pursue an Executive Certificate now. If you're not ready, no worries. You can enroll at any time.
MIT Sloan Executive Education has converted the majority of our upcoming, on-campus courses through June 30th to live online programs. Live online courses will be credited as an “in-person” program for purposes of an Executive Certificate and the Advanced Certificate for Executives.
